Product / Project Overview

Based on Product and User Research, we’d heard that BoxCast customers were seeking a better workflow solutions for getting clips from their broadcasts to share on social. We had a legacy feature that could be used, but the experience was subpar overall compared to modern video editing and clipping software.

Requirements

To put it bluntly - requirements were a mess and woefully unrealistic for the timeline!

Scope was all over the place from the beginning, engineering didn’t have time to properly size and scope work, design did the most with what we could and delivered far more than could be built by the MVP deadline.

What’d we learn?

What’d we learn?

What’d we learn?

Many users have similar workflows in place already - we’d need a competitive feature set to lure them

Most if not all users wanted some amount of control or tuning over the AI service

All users wanted the ability to download clips - Product had originally set out with the idea that downloading shouldn’t be in MVP
